i want to sell clothes to my friends from my home. do i still need a business license??

I live in California and I bought some wholesale items (shirts,jeans,jewelry etc..) and i want to sell some to my friends. I have all the merchandise in a spare room in my house. I want to invite them over to see if they would like to buy somethings from me, Do i still need a business license?
